While the preparations for Grindhouse 3 are in full force, the Pokercode community continues to crush. With multiple big live and online scores its a good preparation month before the big online series start.
Pokercode community member ‘Admirality’ started the month of pretty well when he won an $11 MTT on PokerStars which turned out to be his first ever tournament victory. The win banked him $238 but it wasn’t the only tournament win he would achieve that month.
We all know that playing live differs quite a bit form playing online, but after winning his first online tournament ‘Admirality’ took his skills to the live felt to also take down his first 80-player live tournament in a poker room in Panama.
With the preparations for Grindhouse 3 in full force during August, the participants for the current edition didn’t sit still. Fabian ‘Taurus’ Niederreiter managed to clinch 2nd place in the $44 forty stack on GGPoker, August 10th. The score bagged him $3,387 but he mention himself that the goal for Grindhouse 3 was to learn how to win heads-ups.
Grindhouse 3 participant and community coach Grzegorz ‘MammothTheGr8’ Kozieja might as well give a masterclass heads-up to Fabian. On the same day Kozieja took down the $250 Daily Special on GGPoker which earned him $3,335 and the virtual trophy!
Moving to the other side of the globe we find community member Thijs Hilberts in Manila, Philippines. Hilberts just missed out on a trophy earlier this year when he finished 2nd in a $960 side event of the APPT in Manila for $6,300.
He gave it another shot in August with the $1,130 Main Event of the APPT Manila and managed to get another 2nd-place finish. This time, however, the tournament was a lot bigger than the side event he played before. The ICM deal banked him a whopping $109,000 but he lost the flip for the trophy in the end.
While the eyes are turning to Grindhouse 3, it’s Dominik Böhm, who attended Grindhouse 2, who set a new personal record in August. During a deep run in the GGMasters Bounty $315 he reached the final table. Unfortunately, he missed out on a podium spot, but 4th place was worth $16,613 including the bounties he racked up on his way to the final table.
With August almost over there were two individuals who ended the month with a bang. Our own stream team member Tobias ‘Tobsen_TE9’ Eichenseher made a deep run in the WSOP Online: $365 Sunday GIANT where he finished in 3rd place out of 1,513 entries. Tobsen saw his bankroll increase with $41,135 for his bronze finishing position.
Simon Langer tried to one-up Tobsen with a better score, but he finished in 3rd as well. His tournament was the GGMasters $150 and his 3rd-place finish was worth $34,529.
Congratulations to all the winners this month!
