Board

The term board is usually used in poker variations with community cards like Texas Hold’em and Omaha to describe the community card runout (i.e., flop, turn, and river).

For example, when someone says they got all the chips in the middle before the flop and the board ran out 5-6-9-J-A, they are talking about the community cards that were dealt.

You’ll often hear poker players use other adjectives when talking about the board, such as “dry” and “wet.” These help in explaining how community cards interact with each other and players’ holdings. “Wet” boards are the ones that contain many potential draws and tend to generate action, while “dry” boards have a few if any draws.
