Dealer

In poker, the term dealer can be used to describe the actual person dealing the cards and to denote the position at the table.

When describing the position, the term dealer refers to the person situated to the immediate right of the small blind. Cards are dealt clockwise, starting from the small blind, with the dealer receiving the last card on each dealing round.

The dealer position is very powerful in Texas Hold’em, as it gets to act last in all postflop betting rounds..

Because of this, the dealer button, which marks the dealer's position, rotates around the table, moving one spot to the left after each hand is finished. So, if you’re playing a hand from the small blind, you’ll be in the dealer position on the next hand.
