Hijack

Hijack is a seat to the right of the cutoff at the poker table that has only two players sitting behind it if we consider the button the last position.

To break things further, hijack actually has four players sitting after it in the preflop betting round, since small blind and big blind also acts after the hijack seat as well as cutoff and button. That being said, a hijack would only have two players acting after him postflop, and that’s only if they are still in the hand.

If you are playing in a full ring game, you will see how half of the players acted before making your decisions which is additional information you do not have in early seats. Moreover, you will be able to start stealing more pots from the hijack since if you force the cutoff and button to fold, you will have the position on the blinds for the rest of the hand.
