Hit and Run

A hit and run describes a player who leaves the game instantly after winning a big pot.

For example, a player sits down with $500 in a $2/$5 game. After an orbit, they pick up pocket aces and manage to get it all in against another player with AK. Their aces hold, and they double up to $1,000. As soon as the hand is over, they pick up their chips and cash out.

This is a classic example of a hit and run. In most public games, there are no rules against this practice, but players hate it and consider it a bad poker etiquette.
