Inside Straight Draw

The combination in which a player lacks the middle card necessary to complete a straight is known as an inside straight draw or gutshot for short.

Only four cards can help you make a straight when you have an inside straight draw. Therefore, you only have around an 8.5% chance to make your hand with the next card, making it one of the weakest possible draws.

For example, if you have JT on a board of KQ8,only a 9 will complete your straight. While it might be tempting to chase these draws, you should usually avoid it since you rarely get the right odds to call.Of course, this does not mean that you have to fold it to any bet but berealistic about your chances of improving and rather take a more aggressiveline by betting yourself rather than just calling and hoping to hit it.
