Straight

Five cards in order, at least one of which is not the same suit as the others, is called the straight.

For example, if you have 87 on a board of AT 9 6 2, you have a ten-high straight since you can make a poker hand combination with five cards in a row using your hole cards and community cards– T 9 8 7 6.

If both players have a straight, the winner is determined by comparing the highest card in the combination. Therefore, K QJ T 9 would win against Q J T 9 8. It is worth mentioning that the name of the specific straight combination depends on the highest card. If you have K Q J T9, that is a king-high straight.

Straight is a very strong hand in poker and will take down many big pots if played correctly.
