Tight

The poker term tight is used to describe a playing style characterized by a very cautious and deliberate approach. A tight player will play very few hands and will only get involved in big pots when they believe they have good winning chances.

There are two main subtypes of tight players: tight-aggressive (TAG) and tight-passive.

The tight-aggressive style is generally considered a winning approach, as it mixes a strong hand selection with well-timed aggression and bluffs in favorable spots.

On the other hand, tight-passive players don’t have great winning chances, as they rarely bet or raise unless they have a strong hand, which makes it very easy to play against them. These players are often categorized as NITs.
